Our dear friend Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs Director, Michael Spring, announced his retirement after 40 years of extraordinary service to our communities. It is said that “success has a thousand fathers,” but it is safe to say that no individual did more to affect Miami’s transition to a world leader in arts and culture than Michael Spring. Without him, there would likely be no Frost Science, no Perez Art, no Arsht Center, no Nu Deco or Seraphic Fire, nor the countless great art on public display and arts organizations thriving in one of the world’s greatest cultural ecosystems. He will long be known as one of the people who made Miami what it is today. Kudos on your impactful and deeply meaningful career, Michael. We cannot thank you enough for what you did for us and our posterity.
