On June 12, Governor Ron DeSantis signed SB 646: Intercollegiate Athlete Compensation and Rights, authorizing certain intercollegiate athletes to earn compensation for the use of their names, images, or likenesses.
Alan Fertel, Partner and Chair of the Sports, Arts & Entertainment Practice Group spoke live on the Brian Mudd Show where he discussed the implications of this bill on student atheletes. The bill will take effect July 1, 2021.
