This month, we’re honored to spotlight Angella Reid, a hospitality leader who drove success at Ritz-Carlton before making history at the White House.
Born and raised in Jamaica, Reid’s journey is a testament to resilience, excellence, and the power of service. She made history as the first woman to serve as Director of the Executive Residence and Chief Usher of the White House during the Obama Administration. In this role, she led a team of 100 professionals responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of one of the most iconic residences in the world. She worked closely with the National Park Service, the White House Historical Association, and the Secret Service to preserve history while ensuring seamless execution of state events, including the historic visit of Pope Francis in 2015.
Prior to her White House appointment, Reid held senior leadership positions in hospitality, serving as General Manager and Hotel Manager at several Ritz-Carlton properties, where she earned industry-wide recognition for her expertise in operations, strategic planning, and customer engagement.
Today, as the co-founder of Heritage Consulting by B+R LLC, a minority women-owned business advisory firm, Reid continues to drive impact by helping hotel and healthcare business owners optimize operations by driving organizational change through talent and culture transformation.
Beyond her professional success, Reid is deeply committed to uplifting the next generation. She serves as a Director on the Board of Girls Inc. of Greater Miami, where she mentors and advocates for programs that inspire young girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Previously, she played a key role in launching Girls Inc. of Chicago and has long supported initiatives focused on education, leadership, and community empowerment.
