On Tuesday, Miami-Dade commissioners unanimously voted to lift the County moratorium on city incorporations. Although no incorporations are anticipated in the immediate future, five communities in unincorporated Miami-Dade have pending city bids with the County that can move forward toward incorporation. These five communities include Biscayne Gardens, Fisher Island, the Sky Lake and Highland Lakes area near Aventura, the Fontainbleu area in West Miami-Dade, and an unincorporated neighborhood bordering the eastern portion of Hialeah.
