In a story published by the Daily Business Review, Mitchell J. Burnstein, partner and managing director of Weiss Serota Helfman Cole and Bierman, discussed the firm’s stance on vaccine mandates.
Earlier this month, President Joe Biden announced that companies with 100 or more employees must begin requiring vaccines or submit unvaccinated employees to weekly COVID-19 testing.
Mitch Burnstein explained that WSHC+B had mandated vaccines this summer, ahead of the new rule, and has reached a 96% vaccination rate. Employees with “sincerely held religious beliefs” and pre-existing, contra-indicated medical conditions have been exempted, Burnstein said.
The new rule with the OSHA vaccine mandate was issued on September 13, 2021.
