On February 8, the Dade County Bar Association (DCBA) will host its annual Bench & Bar Conference at the Coral Gables Country Club. WSH Associate Eric P. Hockman and his fellow DBCA directors will host 124 panelists in 23 diverse substantive law panels; participants have the opportunity to earn up to 8 continuing legal education (CLE) or continuing judicial education (CJE) credits by attending the course of their choice. Break-out sessions enable attendees to select the classes that best complement their practice area(s). More than several hundred attorneys and fifty-five federal and state judges have already registered to attend the program. To register for the event, please click here.
The DCBA was incorporated in 1920 to serve the lawyers of Miami-Dade County. Its mission is to promote the administration of justice, to enhance attorney professionalism, and to cultivate positive relationships among all members of the Bar. The DCBA provides attorneys with opportunities for business development, mentoring services, and CLEs to ensure that members can network with others in the legal profession and maintain a level of excellence in their own practice. The DCBA also provides public information for non-members, including legal assistance and referrals to Legal Aid, Legal Services, and other governmental agencies.
WSH Associate Eric P. Hockman serves as Board Member of the DCBA for its 2012-2015 term. A member of our Litigation Division, Eric focuses his practice on complex business, commercial, municipal/governmental, construction, aviation and real estate law before Federal and State courts, as well as mediation and arbitration. Eric is also a member of our Construction Law Group, and has successfully litigated professional malpractice claims, defective design claims, and defective construction and workmanship claims. In 2012, Florida SuperLawyers recognized Eric as a “Rising Star.” In addition to his service as a DCBA Board Member, Eric serves on the Florida Bar’s Aviation Law Committee.
