We are thrilled to report that several WSH attorneys were recently selected as Super Lawyers and Rising Stars by Super Lawyers magazine. Each year, Super Lawyers rates outstanding lawyers from more than seventy practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Gary L. Brown – As Chair of WSH’s Construction Law Group, Gary focuses his practice on general and commercial litigation with special expertise in construction-related matters. Gary is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law. He also serves on the Construction Law Committee for both the Florida Bar (Real Property Section) and the Broward Bar Association. This is Gary’s third recognition as a SuperLawyer.
Jamie A. Cole – Jamie represents private and public clients in all areas of the law with an emphasis on complex litigation and governmental matters. In addition to his extensive litigation and trial experience, he also serves as City Attorney for both Miramar and Weston, and as special counsel in various Palm Beach and Broward municipalities. Among his many accolades, he has been recognized as a “Top Lawyer” by South Florida Legal Guide since 2005, and a member of the “Florida Legal Elite” for four years by Florida Trend. Most recently, he was a finalist for “Top Deal Maker of the Year” in Mixed Use Real Estate by the Daily Business Reviewand an Ultimate Broward CEO. This is Jamie’s fifth recognition as a Super Lawyer.
Edward G. Guedes – Ed is an AV rated attorney and is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in the field of Appellate Practice. He is also chief appellate and trial support counsel for a national supermarket chain concerning all of their premises liability cases in South Florida. Ed has held leadership positions in The Florida Bar Appellate Court Rules Committee and the Dade County Bar Association’s Appellate Court Committee. This is his seventh recognition as a SuperLawyer.
Stephen J. Helfman – Steve practices in the areas of real estate, zoning, growth management, subdivision law and land development. Steve currently serves as municipal attorney to the Village of Key Biscayne, Town of Golden Beach and Village of Indian Creek. He also serves as special real estate/zoning counsel to telecommunication and real estate development companies. This is Steve’s sixth recognition as a SuperLawyer.
Michael S. Popok – Michael focuses his practice on commercial and municipal litigation. Formerly the Chair of our Litigation Division, Michael is an AV rated attorney selected as a Super Lawyer for the past three years. The South Florida Business Journal has acknowledged Michael as a Leading Lawyer in Business Litigation since 2008. Most recently, BestLawyers recognized Michael as one of the Best Lawyers in America 2012 – Municipal Litigation.
Timothy M. Ravich – An AV rated attorney, Tim focuses his practice on aviation law and general litigation. The South Florida Legal Guide has recognized Tim as a “Top Up & Comer,” and the South Florida Business Journal acknowledges him as a “Leading Lawyer.” This is Tim’s fourth consecutive recognition as a SuperLawyer.
Clifford A. Schulman – Cliff has been practicing environmental law for 40 years. An AV rated attorney, Cliff was named Lawyer of the Year in Environmental Law for 2011. This is Cliff’s seventhc consecutive recognition as a SuperLawyer.
Richard Jay Weiss – Richard is an AV rated attorney who serves as City Attorney for Homestead and Village Attorney for Bal Harbour. He has been identified as one of the Top 1% of Lawyers in South Florida Legal Guide for the past nine years. The South Florida Business Journal previously named him one of the “Best of the Bar.” Most recently, Richard was named Lawyer of the Year – Government Relations (South Florida) by BestLawyers. He has been a recipient of Florida Trend’s “Legal Elite” since 2004. This is his ninth year as a Super Lawyer.
Adrian J. Alvarez (Rising Star) – Adrian focuses his practice on complex business, construction and municipal/government litigation. This is Adrian’s first recognition by SuperLawyers as a Rising Star.
Chad S. Friedman (Rising Star) – Chad focuses his practice on representing developers and governmental entities in the areas of land use and zoning. A frequent author and speaker on the subject of growth management and local government law, Chad is currently the Co-Chair for the Environmental and Land Use Committee of the Dade County Bar. This is his fourth recognition as a Rising Star.
Joshua D. Krut (Rising Star) – Josh serves as the Chair of our Community Association, Club & Resort Practice Group. He serves as outside general counsel to a number of community associations, and has extensive experience in real estate law. This is Josh’s fourth recognition as a Rising Star.
Matthew H. Mandel (Rising Star) – Matt serves as the Chair of our Litigation Division. He has extensive litigation and trial experience at the State and federal level. Matt has been selected as a “Top Up & Comer” by South Florida Legal Guide and a Rising Star for three years.
Matthew J. Pearl (Rising Star) – Matt represents local governments, community redevelopment agencies, special districts and private sector entities. This is his first recognition as a Rising Star.
Anthony L. Recio (Rising Star) – Tony focuses his practice on private sector land use and zoning. He represents developers, investors, owners and private lenders throughout South Florida at the municipal, county and State level. In 2008, Real Estate Florida Magazine recognized Tony as a “Top Real Estate Lawyer.” This is his second recognition as a Rising Star.
Eric P. Hockman (Rising Star) – Eric focuses his practice on business dispute litigation and construction litigation. Eric has represented large insurance companies in bad-faith and coverage disputes.
Samuel I. Zeskind (Rising Star) – Sam focuses his practice on general litigation. This is his first recognition as a Rising Star.
