Firm’s new Of Counsel represents clients in all government law matters
Boca Raton, Fla. – Weiss Serota Helfman Cole + Bierman (WSHC+B) strengthened its Boca Raton office with the addition of attorney Debra Ann Reese as Of Counsel to the firm’s robust government practice.
With over three decades working in law, Reese focuses her practice on representing government entities with an emphasis on governmental contracts, procurement, land use and zoning, and municipal construction law. She works with her governmental clients to draft legislation, amendments to codes, and legal opinions.
Prior to joining the firm, Reese served as the Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Hollywood. She worked in a variety of government areas there, including land use and zoning, construction law, building/unsafe structure board, engineering, transportation and mobility division, public utilities, public works, community development, Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), litigation, construction contract drafting and negotiation, contract review and real estate transactions. She also advised the City on issues relating to surtax, mortgage foreclosures, eminent domain, code enforcement lien foreclosures, bankruptcy, and workers’ compensation litigation.

Reese is involved with the Florida Association of Police Advisors and served as the police legal advisor during a portion of her tenure with the City of Hollywood. She’s admitted to practice in both Florida and New Jersey. Reese received her J.D. from the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University.
