Led by a Florida Bar Board Certified Attorney in Education Law, our Education Law Practice Group counsels K-12 school districts, charter schools, and universities in navigating legal issues without losing sight of their mandate to help students achieve their highest potential. Our attorneys often serve as general counsel and special counsel to school districts. We have a clear understanding of the ethos and mission of public educational institutions, having litigated countless cases through trial and appeal on claims involving contract disputes, employment or labor disputes, premises and general tort liability, and having successfully argued a case before the Florida Supreme Court on behalf of the School Board of Alachua County  involving a district’s responsibility for students off campus.

Our experience also extends across a wide range of non-litigation subject matters, from drafting a Title IX investigation checklist used by some of the largest districts in the state, to handling competitive bid protests and rule challenges before the State Department of Administrative Hearings, to compliance investigations.
