According to Schneider, keeping staff safe and businesses open is what’s motivating employers to take steps that include mandating vaccination requirements.  “Generally the law favors employers that want to mandate vaccination requirements. We absolutely expect to see more mandates,” said Schneider.

More and more employers are reviewing how to keep their employees safe and how to protect the business.  These factors are showing to have more motivations for vaccination requirements than the approval from the FDA for the Pfizer vaccine.

Schneider said, “it seems as though the majority of folks in the workforce want vaccinations, feel more safe in vaccinated environments, feel like if they are going to be in the office they want a safe workplace.”

Alison will serve as president-elect of the Broward County Bar Association. The significance of that isn’t lost on her. Alison, who grew up in Jamaica stated, “I want to do the best job I can to make everyone proud that a woman is there, a minority, an immigrant.”

She discussed the importance of mentorship opportunities, especially for students from underrepresented communities in the legal profession.  When Smith becomes president next year, she said she’ll aim to create more mentorship programs for students in the community.  “We need to take a holistic approach,” Alison discussed. “We need participation from board members who aren’t board members to be more inclusive and offer programs to the community at large.”

Alison also went on to discuss how she built relationships in the legal community at large.
