Marlon A. Hill represents businesses, entrepreneurs, and local and international governments in corporate, intellectual property, and government matters, with a focus on creative entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, family-owned businesses, and small-to-middle market companies.
Marlon serves as outside general counsel to various companies, advising business owners on all aspects of structuring and growing their organizations. He has a passion for assisting Caribbean-based, family-owned businesses and multi-national corporations, as well as international companies with U.S. interests, property, or immigration challenges. His practice includes business immigration services, particularly for international companies relocating employees, multi-national executives, managers, artistic talent, and investor entrepreneurs.
With deep experience in mergers, acquisitions, and corporate governance, Marlon also guides clients in the tourism, hospitality, and media and entertainment industries on strategic development, contracts, and intellectual property protection.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Marlon is a dedicated civic leader in South Florida’s African-American and Caribbean-American communities. He has been recognized as one of the “outstanding members of the emerging generation of South Florida business and professional leaders” by the Daily Business Review and has received numerous accolades, including the Philanthropy Miami Hank Raattama Community Champion Award, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Bill Colson Leadership Award, the M. Athalie Range Foundation Bridge Builder Award, and the inaugural Miami Foundation Ruth Shack Community Leadership Award.
Marlon currently serves as a board member of the Orange Bowl Committee, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and BMe Community. He has previously served on the boards of The Miami Foundation, Miami Book Fair International, and the Caribbean Bar Association, where he was also past president. He is an Inaugural Fellow of the Miami Foundation’s Miami Fellows Initiative, a signature local leadership development program.
Engaging with the community, Marlon shares weekly civic commentary, The People’s Politics, on Caribbean Riddims, CaneRadio.com, every Saturday at 4 p.m. His op-eds have appeared in the Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel, addressing civic, legal, and cultural issues, and served as a recurring contributor to WPLG Local 10’s This Week in South Florida Roundtable.
Beyond his legal practice, Marlon is a sought-after MC for bar associations and community events, as well as a frequent wedding host for colleagues. He also volunteers with the Brownsville Middle School Law Academy and the Emmaus Ministry of St. Louis Catholic Church.
